Welcome to my website.
I am an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
My research approaches the Cultural and Creative Industries from the perspectives of Entrepreneurship, the circulation of Symbolic Capitals, and the Economics of Information.
At the undergraduate leve, in the Spring semester of 2023, I am lecturing on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Cultural Entrepreneurship, and Social Entrepreneurship. I also oversee the Graduate Seminar at Javeriana's MBA program.
I have been a guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati, Universitat Paderborn, and Universidad Privada Boliviana.
I am the academic chair of Cultmarts, an international conference on the creative and cultural industries held in Bogotá. Our goal is to become a forum where academicians, policymakers, artists, and other creative industry participants, can share their knowledge and experiences.
I've worked as a critic and journalist for various print and online outlets since 2006. Most recently, I wrote for Tiny Mix Tapes, covering music and film. I also run the newsletter Visiones Incomunicadas. A partial collection of my past work can be found on this site.
My most recent book Testigos del fin del mundo: Música independiente iberoamericana (2010 - 2020) was published by Rey Naranjo in May 2023. It is available worldwide here.
I host a weekly music podcast, currently on hiatus. Stay tuned for updates.
